A new scheme proposed by TFL and A2 Dominion close to Hounslow West tube station will deliver nearly 400 affordable homes designed by HKR Architects.

The plans include keeping the iconic Grade II-listed ticket hall and will make improvements to the platforms.

Hounslow West is on the Piccadilly Line linked to Heathrow and also has very good bus services.

The development will also include retail space, a public square and gardens.

A2 Dominion is also developing the nearby Bath Rd site, formerly a derelict Morrisons store (below).

The Bath Rd plans which have planning permission were designed by Colwyn Foulkes Architects.

Both elements form part of an ambitious plan in Hounslow which includes redeveloping the old Cavalry Barracks and improving both cycle and walkways in the area.

Jonathan Cornelius, head of property development at TfL, said:We’re excited to share our initial proposals to deliver hundreds of new affordable homes in Hounslow, working with A2Dominion.

“We’re looking forward to engaging with the local community on our plans, which also include a variety of improvements for the local area, including a new public square and gardens and cycle parking.’

Danny Lynch, director of land for A2Dominion, said:This scheme brings high-quality affordable housing to Hounslow West.

“It also retains the listed station building and provides new public streets and spaces.

“Hounslow is a very important borough for us, having provided homes in the area for over 70 years we have developed a very strong relationship with the council.

Through schemes like this, we expect that relationship to strengthen further in the future.’
