Royal London has appointed Graham as main contractor to deliver the £35 million design and build of its retirement village at Wycliffe Park in Horsley Green near High Wycombe.

The £80m scheme is a joint venture between Royal London Pension Property Fund and care provider Audley Group.

Graham will lead delivery of the specialist accommodation for older people which will provide 156 one and two-bedroom independent living apartments in four blocks around the 25-acre site.

The firm will also build communal facilities including a central clubhouse which will incorporate reception, restaurant, multi-purpose room, shop, laundry room, scooter storage and management offices. In addition, Graham will create a spa which will include a swimming pool and hairdressing salon.

Landscaping will include a kitchen garden, bowling green and safe walk trails.

Philip Sutton, head of developments at Royal London, said: “Graham’s support during the procurement process has been key to concluding the appointment and we look forward to working with them over the next two years to deliver this high quality development.”

Rob Joyce, director of Graham’s London office, said: “Graham has proven experience in the delivery of both residential accommodation and state-of-the-art specialist facilities. We will be bringing these capabilities together under one design and construction programme that allows the future Wycliffe Park operator to provide its residents with the services that support their continued independence in a high quality living and leisure environment.”

Work has begun on the site and the two-year programme is due for completion in Summer 2022. Wycliffe Park will then be operated by Audley Group.
