Reading Grows Up
Walks-Talks-Awards-Music @ Reading Town Hall
Since 2004, UK Property Forums, publishers of the weekly newsletter Thames Tap, has held a series of conferences celebrating the diversity and scope of the property offer across the Thames Valley region. 2020 is no different, in many respects, we are coming home by holding the conference in the capital of the Thames Valley, Reading. The arrival of Crossrail (Elizabeth Line), the changing skyline as new tall buildings are designed and built across Reading and the success of the BID process has generated a real buzz in the town. Using this as Reading as a base, we shall explore the key issues driving the Thames Valley and what keeps the property, design and construction sectors busy.
The day will start with two Walks, delegates will be able to Walk around the Reading or explore Thames Valley Science Park and new Film Studio.
Walk 1: Reading is experiencing an unprecedented series of planning applications and proposals for new tall buildings which will challenge the topography of Reading’s sky line. This walk will take delegates around the changing landscape of the Reading CBD including Station Hill, The Bakery, Thames Quarter, Broad Street & Fountain House and Gaol in Abbey Quarter.
Walk 2: Reading is home to some of the most successful and enterprising business environments in the UK. The University of Reading has developed a unique environment at Thames Valley Science Park which will includes a major new film studio for Blackhall Studios in the future.
This will be followed by Talks and four sessions which will cover the issues driving the region with keynote speakers invited.
The evening Awards + Music event will be a Formal Dinner held also at Reading Town Hall. There will be six awards categories pre-selected by the judging panel and showcasing the very best and brightest of the region. In line with the festival theme. The price includes a three-course meal and a limited amount of wine.
