Business Columnist, Evening Standard and The Independent
Anthony Hilton is an economics and business journalist with more than 40 years experience on Fleet Street, as a columnist, editor, executive and main board director of Associated Newspapers, publishers of the Daily Mail. He has also worked in New York as business correspondent for the Time and Sunday Times, and before joining Associated Newspapers served for three years as City Editor of The Times. In addition he has founded and chaired several media companies, and served as a director and adviser to a management consultancy and a Lloyd’s of London insurance company. He served 17 years as a pension trustee and investment advisor, and is a former visiting professor in Business and Economics at London Metropolitan University.
He has extensive experience in the not for profit centre having served on fund raising and organising committees of the St Johns Ambulance national appeal, London First, the Aberdeen University Sixth Century Appeal, the Essex University finance sub committee, and the Children’s Film Unit. He is currently chair of Dance East, designated by the Arts Council as one of the leading contemporary dance organisations in the UK.
