Plans have been drawn up for 103 Build-to-Rent flats in Friar Street, Reading which will sit alongside those in the Station Hill development.
Shaviram has begun consultation on its plans to develop 35-39 Friar Street. The development will run alongside Friars Walk where Lincoln MGT is building 600.
The site includes the Cosmo restaurant which will return to a unit in the new development in one of two units which will face Friar Street. There will be what the developer calls ‘retail incubator’ units facing onto Friars Walk and a co-working office for residents of the scheme.
The development of mostly one and two-bedroom flats plus six with three bedrooms, will also have roof gardens and communal spaces. Thirty per cent of the homes will be affordable.
Shaviram hopes to secure planning permission this year.
