Plans have been approved for a 60,000 sq ft office building at Bicester Arc.
Peveril Securities and Sladen Estates won consent from Cherwell District Council for the state-of-the-art head office building at the 48-acre Bicester Arc business park near Bicester Village retail park, off the A41.
The developer says the four-storey Grade A development targets occupiers seeking high-spec workspace in a green setting at rents which rival those in Oxford.
Bicester Arc has a 15-acre Eco Park solely for the use of occupiers, and work is under way for a primary substation, due for completion in Spring 2025.
Rachel Wood, managing director of Sladen Estates, said: “These are exciting times for Bicester Arc. The secured electricity provides us with a major competitive advantage, enabling the park to accommodate a variety of businesses.
“We aim to capitalise on this by commencing construction of the BREEAM Excellent-rated office building in Spring 2025, allowing occupation from Autumn 2026 of either half floors or the entire building by a sole occupier.”
Rachel added: “One of the major benefits of Bicester Arc is the excellent access to good quality affordable housing, giving those who work in the park the freedom to either walk or cycle to work.”
Ralph Jones, managing director of Peveril Securities, said: “This planning approval marks a crucial step in realising our ambitious vision for Bicester Arc. We are committed to building a landmark facility that not only provides a unique and adaptable environment for growth but also continues to drive innovation in the area.”
CBRE, WHY and Knight Frank are retained as letting agents on the scheme.
