Savills has been appointed to market Oxfordshire County Hall ahead of the county council’s 2027 move to Speedwell House.

Oxfordshire County Council decided on the move in January. Now the Grade-II listed County Hall building, which dates from 1841 and includes the council chamber and coroner’s court in a total of 96,000 sq ft of space, is to be disposed of.

The Oxford city centre space is close to the Westgate shopping centre.

Sophie Holder, from the commercial agency team at Savills Oxford, said: “We are excited to present this unmissable opportunity to refurbish or redevelop this landmark site central to Oxford’s history and re-imagine its future.

“We anticipate a wide range of interest from the UK and across the world.”
