Changes to Maidenhead’s approved Nicholson Quarter scheme will be unveiled at a public consultation during February.

Developer Areli secured planning permission from the Royal Borough in 2021 to demolish the ailing Nicholsons Shopping Centre and replace it with a complex of offices, shops and flats – to be known as the Nicholson Quarter.

The project has yet to be delivered but Areli revealed in December it hoped to update the public on proposed changes to the scheme in the new year.

Now Areli has announced it will be holding a two-day community update exhibition in an empty unit in the shopping centre opposite Superdrug, near the Brock Lane entrance.

The event will run from 10.30am to 5.30pm on both Friday, February 7 and Saturday, February 8. Questionnaires will be available and the deadline for comments is Monday, February 24.

Once the scheme is amended Areli hopes to begin construction in early 2026.
