Independent brewer Hall & Woodhouse (H&W) has begun construction of its multi-million pound restaurant and bar in the centre of Crowthorne in Berkshire.

The family-owned business will deliver a two-storey restaurant and bar for up to 150 seated covers early next year, creating 40 full-time jobs.

H&W Crowthorne will be a gateway building to the new residential estate, Buckler’s Park, near Buckler’s Forest, a 102-hectare Forestry Commission site.

The purpose-built restaurant and bar will comprise five different multi-functioning spaces including an outdoor terrace and garden.

Mark James, property director of Hall & Woodhouse, said: “At Hall & Woodhouse we are driven by innovation and our aim is to create a building of real quality. We are so passionate about providing a warm, welcoming offering that reflects the local environment and its heritage.

“Similar to our plans for the building’s exterior, the restaurant’s décor will take inspiration from its surroundings. Guests can expect to see plenty of green throughout the building. We will have lots of plants, stylistic artwork, colourful soft furnishings, and exposed brick walls. Hall & Woodhouse Crowthorne will have a contemporary style, but with a warm feel and lots of colour and character.”

The state-of-the-art building will have a steel structure with a mixture of brick, timber panelling and glazing that complements the locality.

Mark added: “We have designed H&W Crowthorne to welcome guests at any time of day, from informal catch-ups over coffee, to family celebrations enhanced by a variety of locally sourced dishes.

“We are especially looking forward to guests enjoying a drink on our year-round terrace – whether that’s a pot of tea, cocktails, or a pint of our delicious Badger beer.”

Solar roof panels will be installed to run the building’s heating system and there will be LED lighting, sustainable waste disposal, upcycled materials and furniture along with outdoor cycle parking.
