A new industrial estate is being planned for the site of a former race track in Aldermaston.
Lesimar has applied to West Berkshire Council, via DHA Planning, for outline permission for 17,692 sq m of commercial space which includes HGV parking and turning areas at the former Aldermaston Raceway at Paices Hill.
The 3.5-hectare site, a former banger racing circuit, is just south of the existing Young’s Trading Estate and borders the AWE.
The council had said it would prefer a full planning application but the applicant chose to go for outline so that the reserved matters stage could enable flexibility to respond to a post-Covid market.
The plans, drawn up by gdm architects, show 23 possible units, some as small as 200 sq m.
