Savills has appointed director Julia Mountford joint head of its Reading planning team.
Savills Central Planning represents landowners, housebuilders and promoters across the Thames Valley, operating from bases in Reading and Oxford. Julia, who is based in Reading, will join Oxford-based Rob Linnell to jointly lead the 25-strong team.
Julia joined Savills in 2018 having previously held positions in both private and public sector planning in Berkshire. She specialises in the promotion of residential-led strategic land. She is also head of the firm’s UK-wide Energy and Climate Change working group, which helps identify and highlight changing legislation in this area and the implications of these changes for our industry.
She said: “I am delighted to take to the helm and look forward to working alongside Rob to continue to grow our business both in Reading and across the Thames Valley.”
Julia takes over from Phil Brown. Phil continues in his role of Head of Savills Reading Office. He said: “I have had the privilege of seeing our planning business in Reading grow into the market-leading team it is today. By focusing on our people, we have been able to deliver excellent results for our clients, helping to pave the way for some of the most significant new schemes of the last decade.
“I am very pleased for Julia, who I know will drive the Reading planning team forward under her leadership.”
