The planning application for the 3,520-home Manydown scheme at Basingstoke will be heard by councillors in March.

Basingstoke & Deane Borough Council’s development control committee will meet on March 24 to consider the outline planning application, submitted jointly by the authority and Hampshire County Council. The meeting has been specially arranged for the Manydown application.

Along with the homes, the scheme includes businesses, shops and community facilities, schools and a 250-acre country park. Chair of the committee, Cllr Paul Miller, said: “Manydown is the largest site allocated for housing in the Basingstoke and Deane Local Plan.

“Given the size and complexity of the development and the amount of information councillors will need to consider, an additional meeting has been arranged to focus on the outline planning application.”

The application was originally submitted in 2017, with updates and amendments made in 2018 and 2019.
