Present Made has unveiled that its first sites are in the OxCam Arc.
The company, owned and funded by Apache Capital Partners, is the UK’s first company with the sole purpose of designing, building, and operating family homes for rent and was recently established.
The firm has a £1.6 billion budget and plans to develop 3,000 precision-engineered modular homes across Southern England, with the first three sites being in the OxCam Arc.
The first Present Made site is set to be in Cambridge, the first dedicated rental neighbourhood in Britain, comprised of a mix of 370 houses and apartments, raised garden court, an ecology corridor, and cycling routes directly connected to the main Cambridge network.
Its other announced site is a 170-acre site just south of Bedford, surrounded by villages and country parks, inspired by the area’s history, and is set to be 650 homes, a five-acre primary school, and an 87-acre country park.
CEO of Apache Richard Jackson said “Four years in the making, Present Made from the outset has been designed around our future residents’ needs and the growing importance of ESG considerations to both our residents and investors alike.
Despite record numbers of families renting, no purpose-built single-family rental housing exists in the UK. Present Made will cater to this growing but under-served segment of the rental market by providing high-quality smart homes designed and built specifically for rent, delivered through precision engineering and operated by our own dedicated in-house team.
The biophilic designs, amenities, and services provided at Present Made communities are all intended to help promote mental and physical health and wellbeing, where living sustainably is second nature.”
The location of the third site of their first development phase has not been disclosed at the time of writing.
