Unico Developments Ltd has proposed replacing the HSBC Bank on Teddington Hight Street with eight new homes and two retail units.

The plans have been altered since the initial report on the project back in September 2023 following consultation with Residents.

The proposal is for:

The demolition of the existing building and erection of a new building comprising a basement, ground and three upper floors (including roof storey) to provide eight residential flats (Class C3) and up to two retail units (Class E).

Feedback so far has been largely favourable, with many looking forward to an uplift in the appearance of this popular high street. The design includes several elements derived from feedback.

The design not only enhances the aesthetic appeal of the area but also significantly contributes to the local environment. It includes a ‘living wall’ to increase the habitat and biodiversity from virtually zero to ±37m2. Additionally, ±67m2 of green roof is to be provided for ecology and SuDS benefits.

Chandler Browne is the architect.

The decision is due by the end of August.
