Applications are open to purchase three new £100,000 homes in Kennett, East Cambridgeshire.
The one-bedroom properties at the Kennett Garden Village development are expected to be completed by Ashberry, the developers, from July 2026. The deadline to submit an application to purchase one of these houses is 17:00 on 9th March 2026.
The ‘£100k homes’ are all new-build, 100% owned and available to purchase at a discounted market rate of £100,000. Eligible applicants are subject to a maximum income limit of £50,000 per annum and must not own a home. For joint applicants, the annual limit also applies to total household income.
Councillor Anna Bailey, leader of East Cambridgeshire District Council, which is pioneering the affordable housing scheme, said: “We are delighted to be in a position to offer a further three £100K Homes to eligible residents who live or have strong connections with Kennett or surrounding villages.
“Our £100K Homes provide an opportunity to meet the housing needs of those who would otherwise not be able to buy on the open market in their local area. These eco-friendly homes have been beautifully constructed as part of the garden village development and will enable those local to the area who are struggling to get on the property ladder.”
It is understood that the discounted market rate remains with the property indefinitely, therefore being available for future buyers.
