Long-awaited plans for more than 1,300 homes have been submitted to Epping Forest Borough Council.

The outline planning application for the scheme, known as Latton Priory, was submitted by submitted by Commercial Estates Projects and Hallam Land.

It includes plans for up to 1,340 homes, residential care and supported accommodation, a mixed-use local centre, primary and secondary schools, greenspaces, including playing fields and new highway, cycle and pedestrian routes.

The scheme is part of the Harlow and Gilston Garden Town project, a partnership of five local authorities delivering homes and infrastructure based on Garden Town principles.

The team on the project includes Turley, David Locke Associates, SLR Consulting, Brookbanks, FPCR Environment and Design, Southern Ecological Solutions, WSP and Orion Heritage
