A screening opinion request has revealed plans for 170 homes at Benson.
Acting on behalf of Elivia Homes, Walsingham Planning has asked South Oxfordshire District Council whether an environmental impact assessment is required for its plans to develop 7.9 hectares of former grazing land, south of Watlington Road (the left of two fields in the above Google image).
The site, to the north east of the town, is around 0.7km from Benson High Street.
The proposed outline planning application will include a new access road of Watlington Road and new off-road walking and cycling routes. A mix of home types, including affordable, is proposed. Edge Urban Design is drawing up the scheme.
Two previous screening opinion requests – in 2016 and 2022 – found no environmental impact assessments were needed.
