Plans to replace two offices in Maidenhead with a mixed use, office, residential and commercial scheme are revealed in a screening opinion request to the Royal Borough.

The Royal London Mutual Insurance Society is drawing up a planning application to demolish Statesman House in Stafferton Way and replace it with a 116,000 sq ft office building. In the same application the developer wants to demolish nearby Braywick Gate in Braywick Road and replace it with 73,000 sq ft of offices and a 94,000 sq ft residential building and 5,500 sq ft of commercial and retail space.

The screening opinion request by planners at Quod over the need for an environmental impact assessment, states that the scheme being planned for the 1.59-hectare site has been revised to have a slight increase in the amount of accommodation.

The revised scheme, however, proposes a reduction in car parking spaces from 340 to 242.
