A screening opinion request has revealed plans for around 200 homes on land west of  Wantage.
Faringdon-based Drivewalk Ltd has made the request to Vale of White Horse District Council regarding the need for an environmental impact assessment ahead of its proposed outline planning application which will cover around half of a 13.2-hectare agricultural site off Challow Road.
The remainder of the site will be kept as open space with some native tree planting. Plans include pedestrian and cycle links through the site. The route will connect King Alfred’s Academy and cross the Wilts and Berks Canal to the existing public footpath network.
The route follows discussions with the academy and the Wilts and Berks Canal East Vale Branch.
The team includes BHP Harwood as architect, Peter Brett Associates (now Stantec) which produced the landscape and visual appraisal and Paul Butt Planning as planning consultant.
