Plans for 225 homes in Maidenhead go before councillors on Tuesday (April 15) with a recommendation for approval.

Taylor Wimpey’s plans to develop three fields totalling 6.47 hectares off Kimbers Lane are subject of an extraordinary meeting of the Royal Borough’s Maidenhead development management committee.

The proposals are part of a wider allocation of 2,600 homes across 89.93 hectares to the south of the town which includes Cala Homes’ plans for 1,500 units on the former Maidenhead Golf Club site.

Cala’s scheme has been consented, subject to a s106 agreement, while three other consented schemes within the allocation include Taylor Wimpey West London’s plans for 215 units, Berkeley Homes’ plans for 199 and Elivia Homes’ plan for 43.

Taylor Wimpey’s 225-home plan seeks full planning approval for homes of one to four bedrooms, 30 per cent of them affordable and five per cent custom-built.

The scheme was planned by Savills and designed by ECE Architecture. Transport consultant is Stuart Michael Associates.
