Plans have been submitted for 254 Build-to-Rent flats in Reading.
Packaged Living, in conjunction with Bridges Fund Management, has applied to Reading Borough Council to develop the vacant 5,669 sq m Norman Place office building in Vastern Road for Waterfront Square, a development of studio, one, two and three-bedroom flats. Heights will range from one to 11 storeys.
The 0.54-hectare Thames side site will have just 18 parking spaces and 136 cycle spaces.
The ground floor of the development will have 278 sq m of Class E commercial space at ground floor level and there will be 564.1 sq m of amenity space throughout the scheme.
The 1980s building, most recently used by Covea Insurance, has been vacant for several years. Neighbouring Sovereign House is also vacant.
The team on the project includes Assael on architecture and landscape architecture, Opus Works on planning, and Lichfields as heritage & townscape consultant.
