A scoping request has revealed plans for more than 3,000 homes on the northern edge of Bicester.
Hallam Land Management has asked Cherwell District Council if an environmental impact assessment is needed for its proposal for a mixed-use scheme for up to 3,100 homes on 177 hectares between the London to Birmingham railway line and the A4095 (Lords Lane).
A report, put together by David Lock Associates in association with FPCR Environment and Design, Brookbanks, Jubb, RSK Acoustics and Orion Heritage, reveals that the scheme also includes extra care homes, a local centre with commercial uses, a new primary school along with land for an extension to an existing one, open space, a solar farm and new road, cycle and pedestrian connections.
The development, which is expected to be delivered over a 12-year period with construction starting in 2023/24, is likely to include a 30 per cent proportion of affordable housing.
