Plans have been submitted for a high-rise block of 580 co-living apartments in the centre of Woking.

Woking Poole has applied to Woking Borough Council to demolish Technology House and Poole House on a 0.17-hectare site in Goldsworth Road to build the scheme of up to 25 storeys.

Outwardly the design will differ little from a previous consent, won by housing association Abri Group for 224 flats with retail on the ground floor which was won on appeal in March 2023.

Of the co-living units, 350 will be allocated to the local Italia Conti Dance school in nearby Henry Plaza, with the remainder operated by Node Living.

Many of the students of the renowned dance school have to commute from Guildford, due to a lack of suitable accommodation in Woking but the proposed new complex will be just 300 metres from the school.

The team on the project includes Turley on planning, Axiom on architecture and Ivory Group as development manager.
