Plans have been submitted for an 88-hectare solar farm in Thornborough, North Bucks.

Crosshouse Solar has applied to Buckinghamshire Council to create the 49.99MW solar farm across four agricultural fields for a ‘temporary’ period of 50 years.

A planning statement by Lighthouse Development Consultancy states: “Once the planning permission has expired the proposals would be removed from the site and it would be returned to its current agricultural condition.”

Under the plans, the site, between Milton Keynes and Buckingham, close to the Northamptonshire border, will have a substation to the south east with trenched cabling connecting it to the national grid.

The statement says the site is well-screened by hedgerows and woodland.

As well as Lighthouse on planning, the project team includes Stantec on transport and AC archaeology on heritage.
