TT Group has won its appeal for the redevelopment of a former BT car park in Watford town centre into 89 new homes.
Plans to replace the car park with a flats spread over buildings of between five to eight storeys, were initially refused by Watford Borough Council in May 2023.
As a result of the Planning Inspectorate’s decision, the site, situated between Wellstones and Exchange Road, will contribute to the revitalisation of the town centre and activation of the area.
The scheme will also deliver 95 sq m of new ground-floor commercial units.
Steve Akeju, senior development manager for TT Group, said: “Following the success of our appeal, we look forward to seeing this development come to fruition and contribute quality new homes and commercial space to Watford town centre.
“We are now considering the next steps and best approach for bringing the site forward in the future.”
