New phases (8.1 & 8.2) for the South Acton Masterplan were approved by Ealing Council at a virtual planning meeting on the 17th June 2020. The Masterplan which has 11 phases is expected to be delivered by 2028. Designed by architects Stitch, this major phase will provide 336 mixed-tenure homes, comprising one, two, three and four-bedroom apartments, houses and maisonettes providing social rent, shared ownership and private sale homes.
Phases 8.1 & 8.2 have been designed to enhance connections across the development, linking the Acton Gardens Community Centre at the heart of the neighbourhood with the newly completed Phase 7.1 to the north. The start of the new north-south road will be created, linking Strafford Road with Avenue Park Road, a key principle of the Acton Gardens masterplan to increase connectivity across the estate. The design has prioritised the pedestrian experience, focusing on landscaping and a pedestrian-friendly street layout.
The newly approved phases also embrace the values of the Acton Gardens masterplan by celebrating the leafy character of the neighbourhood and presenting a distinctive yet elegant backdrop for the public spaces of both Avenue Park and Central Plaza.
