Panattoni’s plans for 1,000 flats along with industrial units at the former AkzoNobel site in Slough have been approved.
Slough Borough Council’s planning committee agreed outline planning permission for the scheme, at the 12.7-hectare site in Wexham Road, at an extraordinary meeting on Wednesday, August 26.
The development, planned by Turley, will deliver 338 one-bedroom homes, 377 with two, 243 with three and 42 with four, along with 1,500 sq m of flexible retail on the southern section of the site. Twenty-five per cent will be affordable.
The northern section, considered too contaminated for homes, has the option of:
- 8,361 sq m of B2 (general industrial) and 28,418 sq m of B8 (storage & distribution)
- 36,789 sq m of B8
- 8,361 sq m of B2, 9,290 sq m of B8 and a data centre of 41,806 sq m
- 71,535 sq m data centre
PRP is architect and masterplanner for the residential element while SGP designed the commercial.
