Bob Mountain has been appointed vice-chair of Berkshire Local Transport Body (BLTB).

In the new role, Mr Mountain, who is head of supply chain & logistics for Honda in the EU and Commonwealth regions, automatically becomes co-chair of the Berkshire Strategic Transport Forum and a Thames Valley Berkshire LEP board member.

For the past two years he has been involved with the LEP on a number of local projects.

Mr Mountain said: “The major challenge for the BLTB will be handling the fallout of Covid-19, with regard to employment, the provision of necessary skills, the improvement of both our digital and physical infrastructure, and the encouragement of continued inward investment into Berkshire.

“Even in the current circumstances, we can leverage the strengths of the area, such as the excellence of our workforce and our geographic location. I am looking forward to using my experience in the wider setting of the LEP board to also positively impact people in the Berkshire area.”

Bob Beveridge, chair of the LEP, said: “Bob’s previous experience with the LEP and breadth of industry expertise will be highly advantageous in supporting the LEP develop and deliver a technology-led recovery plan to boost productivity and support our green recovery from Coronavirus.”
