A property firm is refusing to confirm to Thames Tap whether it is the buyer of more than 60 acres of land in Caversham Park Village in Reading.
Five lots, each consisting of several areas of land, were sold by auctioneers Charles Darrow in July. The lots include the large area behind homes in Dumbarton Way (pictured).
Thames Tap understands at least one of the lots was bought by London & Capital Housing, a property company based in Regents Park Road in London.
We have telephoned and emailed the company twice and tried to make contact via its website but, so far, we’ve had no response.
Exeter-based Fairweather Builders, the company which owns the former developer of the village, Davis Estates, sold the lots via auctioneer Charles Darrow in July. The decision to sell follows the death of the owner of that business.
The five lots are:
- The north west side of Burleigh Mews (RG4 6QT) – 29.31 acres sold for £126,500
- Land at Caversham Park Road (RG4 6PZ) – sold for £30,500
- Land at Newton Avenue (RG4 6PB) – sold for £5,000
- Land to the south east of Montpellier Drive (RG4 6PB) – sold for £15,200
- Land to the east of Peppard Road (RG4 6NN) – sold for £104,250
The latter is the one we understand to have been bought by London & Capital Housing.
The registration has not yet appeared on the Land Registry website.
