South Norfolk Planning Committee has unanimously approved Norwich Energy Innovation Park.
The new park, located on Stanfield Road, south-east of Wymondham, near the Hethel Innovation Centre, will be developed by George J Goff Ltd, a company which delivers heating oil across East Anglia and the south east.
The development aims to provide an exemplar high quality, low impact business enterprise centre aiming to achieve an Outstanding BREEAM rating, with committee members complimenting the scheme for its green credentials and potential job creation.
The scheme is designed to offer a new collaborative employment community with a range of office and workshop spaces, a café, communal working areas and a social hub, set within a green landscape. It seeks to become an incubator for start-ups and innovation, as well as a space where businesses can grow and expand within the digital technology, transportation, modular construction and renewable energy sectors.
Project manager Saul Humphrey said: “We are aiming really high, to be the most sustainable employment building in the county.”
Cllr David Bills said it was an “extremely interesting project”. He said “I think it will help south Norfolk put its name on the map”
Lanpro assisted in the design of the project, providing architects, planning and landscape consultancy, environmental assessments and the overall management of the scheme.
