Plans for a health and wellbeing hub with 69 consulting rooms have been approved for a site within the Graven Hill self-build development in Oxfordshire.
Cherwell District Council’s (CDC) planning committee approved the plans at its January 13 meeting.
As many as four GP surgeries could move to the 3,350 sq m development on land off Rodney House roundabout, which would serve Graven Hill Village’s 1,900 self and contract-built homes. There will be 48 solar panels on the roof and a car park for 223 vehicles.
The two and partially three-storey building will be on the north side of Graven Hill and will include a pharmacy.
Cllr Colin Clarke, lead member for planning for CDC, said: “Graven Hill is home to the UK’s largest site for people who want to build their own homes. As the town grows, this facility will provide for the needs of the existing and future population.
“We understand that it is a popular choice with the medical profession and will support the training of new doctors. The building will be in keeping with the design code of the wider Graven Hill development and include an attractive sensory garden and landscaping.”
