Thames Tap partner SEGRO has found a new way to try to help meet environmental standards at Slough Trading Estate – pollution-absorbing billboards.
The industrial developer and owner of the estate, has put advertising hoardings up throughout the estate, coated in air-purifying resin, which uses sunlight to turn emissions into clean air.
Nick Hughes, director of marketing and communications, said: “Innovation will play a key role in our transition to a low carbon economy and, in addition to the game-changing sustainability initiatives, it’s important we also embrace smaller ideas, such as these green billboard inks, which, when added together, can still make a meaningful difference for our future.”
SEGRO’s environmental aspirations are part of its Responsible SEGRO programme. Its three key aims are ‘Championing low-carbon growth, investing in local communities and environments and nurturing talent’.
