Real estate adviser and Thames Tap partner Savills is to hold a seminar next week on the future growth prospects of Oxford as a global city.

The event, Oxford: A Global Competitor, at Trinity College, Oxford on November 29, will launch new commercial and residential market research from Savills researchers.

Aiming to tackle key questions on Oxford’s prospects on the world stage, the seminar will be an opportunity for professionals to hear from Savills researchers, alongside other sector experts, including Bill Cotton, corporate director, environment and place for Oxfordshire County Council.

It will also provide a forum for discussion and networking, with drinks and canapés.

Head of Savills Oxford Richard Binning said: “Oxford has many of the core ingredients of a globally competitive city, including university-driven innovation, multiple economic specialisations and a well-educated population.

“But to maintain its global position and maximise its future potential it must first address some considerable challenges.

“In our seminar we hope not only to delve into the opportunities and challenges Oxford faces, but also to consider some of the potential ways forward. We anticipate lively discussion and plenty of food for thought to take away.”
