Greencore Construction is planning a new scheme of what it calls ‘climate positive’ homes after the firm made its largest acquisition.

Greencore has bought a five-acre site in Milton Heights, next to Milton Park in Oxfordshire and will be applying for planning permission for a landscape-led scheme which will include public open space.

The scheme, which Greencore hopes to start work on this year, subject to planning, is the start of an aggressive growth plan to deliver at least 10,000 climate positive homes by 2035.

Greencore chief executive Jon Di-Stefano (pictured right) said: “We are delighted to have acquired this site in Milton Heights and we look forward to developing another exceptional scheme of Greencore homes.

“We are beginning to build a substantial development pipeline but we have ambitious plans and an appetite to acquire many more sites, both larger scale and across a wider geography.

“Our vision is to lead the housebuilding industry in the delivery of climate positive homes and every site we acquire is another step on our exciting journey.”

The climate positive homes concept, developed by Greencore, involves factory-built timber frame panels, designed to lock up more carbon than emitted,  to create the superstructures.
