Plans have been submitted for a 60-room motel, close to the Harwell Campus in Oxfordshire.
Lingwood Estates has applied to Vale of White Horse District Council to build the scheme on a 0.96-hectare site at the A34 Chilton Interchange.
The triangular site, four miles from Didcot, is within the North Wessex downs area of outstanding natural beauty (AONB) and is bordered on all three sides by roads.
The two-storey motel building is targeting BREEAM Excellent and 20 per cent of the 62 parking spaces will have EV charging. The scheme will also provide parking for 16 bikes.
The team on the project includes Grayling Thomas Architects, Oxford & Country Planning and Glanville Consultants.
