Breckland Council Seeks Public Input to Preserve Thetford’s Built Heritage
Breckland Council, in collaboration with Thetford Town Council, is inviting members of the public to provide their input as they revise their strategy for preserving and enhancing Thetford’s rich built heritage.
This initiative aims to update the existing Conservation Area Appraisal, adapting it to reflect the evolving character of the town while outlining a comprehensive plan for conserving and improving the Conservation Area through responsible development management.
The newly updated appraisal will also offer guidance to property owners within the Conservation Area on how to safeguard and enhance the town’s historical architectural treasures.
To ensure that the community’s voice is heard and considered in this preservation endeavour, residents and stakeholders are encouraged to participate in this consultation.
Councillor Sarah Suggitt, Breckland Deputy Leader and Executive Member for Strategic & Operational Planning, expressed the council’s commitment to preserving Thetford’s heritage: “At Breckland Council, we are passionate about the preservation and enhancement of our built heritage.”
