The latest designs for Farnborough’s new leisure and cultural hub are out for consultation.
Rushmoor Borough Council launched four weeks of consultation on Monday, February 26 and has arranged three drop-ins in March before it plans a detailed planning application in Summer.
The development, drawn up by DPP, will bring together leisure, library and cultural services, including two swimming pools, a six-court sports hall, a large fitness suite, studios, soft play and a health suite, along with dedicated library areas, community rooms, a gallery, and collaborative spaces for art projects. There would also be a new skate park, destination play area and mobility hub.
Cllr Martin Tennant, Rushmoor Borough Council’s deputy leader and cabinet member for major projects and property, said: “We are totally committed to delivering a new leisure and cultural hub for the town and we are very excited to be sharing the latest designs with our residents for their comments.
“We hope everyone will take the time to come along to one of our drop-in sessions, or to find out more on the website. We look forward to hearing people’s views before we submit a detailed planning application this Summer.
Drop-ins will be on:
- Saturday March 9, 10am to 1pm, at the Princes Mead shopping centre, Farnborough
- Monday, March 11, 2pm to 7pm, at the council offices, Farnborough Road, Farnborough
- Tuesday, March 19, 10am to 12pm at the Princes Hall, Princes Way, Aldershot
In addition, the exhibition boards will be available to view at the council offices from Monday, March 11 to Friday March 15, and at the Princes Hall from Monday, March 18 to Friday, March 22.
The consultation will run until Sunday, March 24. Visit https://dpp1.co.uk/farnborough/
