Over 100 local business people took to their oars at the annual Jansons Rowing Cup, raising funds for Myocarditis UK.

The charity focuses on researching the causes, prevention, and cures of myocarditis, a life-threatening heart condition recently featured on EastEnders.

The event, held on Wednesday, 12th June 2024 at Dorney Lake in Berkshire, saw Berkeley Group claim first place, with IHG Hotels finishing close behind.

Andy Jansons, Managing Director of Jansons Property and Co-founder of Myocarditis UK, expressed his delight: “This has been our finest event yet! Congratulations to this year’s winners, Berkeley Group! And a big thank you to all who participated and helped make the day a huge success.”

The sold-out event not only provided an excellent opportunity for fundraising but also facilitated business networking.

Jansons highlighted the dual benefits of the day: “Each year, we aim to blend the best of fundraising with business networking to create a memorable day that fundamentally makes a difference to the charity and has an impact on local businesses. Whether that’s landing a deal or creating a new partnership, the aim of the day is to unite local businesses under a common cause.”

Funds raised from the event will support Myocarditis UK’s research efforts, including advanced heart imaging to study the relationship between genetics and myocarditis. The event featured 13 teams competing, with Berkeley Group taking the top spot and Big Gun Digital receiving the Crab Oar for last place. The Jansons Cup included heats, semi-finals, and A and B finals, followed by an awards ceremony and a BBQ celebration.

Participating businesses included:

  • Berkeley Group Plc
  • Big Gun Digital
  • Blaser Mills Law (2023 winners)

  • Flourish PR & i-Transport
  • Forsters
