Plans for up to 110 homes in Chesham have been revealed in a screening request to Buckinghamshire Council.

Burlington Developments has submitted the request over the need for an environmental impact assessment for its proposed scheme on a 5.7-hectare site at Pheasant Rise to the south east of the town centre.

Burlington proposes a 50 per cent proportion of affordable homes.

Although the site is surrounded by housing on three sides and woodland on the other, it has some constraints. It falls within the Metropolitan Green Belt, Chiltern Hills National Landscape and within the 12.6km buffer zone of the Chiltern Beechwoods Special Area of Conservation and is defined as ‘sensitive’ in EIA regulations.

The request submission to the council states: “The site comprises both a natural and logical extension to the existing settlement of Chesham.”

The developer anticipates a five-year construction period starting in 2028. The team includes Boyer on planning and Pegasus on design.
