Legal & General (L&G) has applied to demolish Johnson & Johnson’s 200,000 sq ft head office building at High Wycombe and replace it with five industrial buildings.

The pharmaceutical giant is consolidating its High Wycombe and Pinewood sites to 97,000 sq ft at L&G’s long-delayed Tempo building in Maidenhead, which is due to complete this year.

Now L&G has applied to Buckinghamshire Council to clear the 4.8-hectare High Wycombe site in Holmers Farm Way, alongside the M40, for the industrial scheme of five units, ranging in size from 2,268 sq m to 6,263 sq m and totalling 19, 963 sq m.

Use classes are E(g)(iii) (industrial processes suitable in residential areas), B2 (general industrial) and B8 (storage & distribution). The scheme will accommodate between 230 – 350 jobs.

The team on the project includes Chetwoods on architecture, PMV on planning, i-Transport on transport, ESC on sustainability and Hatch on socio -economics.
