The Hurlingham Club, located in Fulham and renowned for its exclusive sporting and social activities, is proposing to demolish its existing cricket pavilion and build a new one.

The current pavilion, over 30 years old and originally intended as a temporary structure, no longer meets the club’s needs or the English Cricket Board’s guidelines. It lacks communal and changing spaces for officials and is inaccessible to those with mobility challenges.

The new pavilion aims to serve multiple users, including cricketers, croquet players, and spectators, and will also be available for private member events and occasional community use. The design process involves collaboration with architects and representatives from the club’s Estates, Grounds, and Sports committees.

A planning application has been submitted to Hammersmith and Fulham Council. In addition to the pavilion project, the club is focusing on its masterplan, which includes recent renovations of the East Wing, an award-winning event space.

The Main Committee and club management are also considering future developments in the North and West Wings. These projects are interconnected, and a working group led by Richard Rawlinson, the former Chair of Finance, is tasked with understanding these dependencies to inform proposals for club members.

The Hurlingham Club, with its rich history and prestigious status, continues to enhance its facilities to maintain its reputation as one of the world’s finest private member clubs.
