The Emmbrook School, based in Wokingham, has received £3.8 million worth of funding from Wokingham Borough Council, in order to fund an expansion of their provisions.
The funding, approved in February, follows previous funding of £240,000, provided by the council in June of last year.
The expansion project will allow the school to take on up to 60 additional sixth form students, specifically with the demolition of an existing administration block, to make room for construction of a new two-story building to house existing sixth form students, alongside additional capacity for a new intake.
The new building would include social spaces, a study area, alongside classrooms, toilets and an administration area, accessibility ramps would also be implemented, as well as energy efficient features.
The project will also involve expanding to eight-form entry, meaning there will be an additional 150 places across their other year groups.
