Yesterday, SEGRO and environmental non-profit Earthwatch hosted the official planting of the Kennedy Park Tiny Forest in Slough.
The event involved the planting of 600 native trees in a space the size of a tennis court, setting up a new green space for the local community. Attendants of the event included representatives from SEGRO, Earthwatch, citizens and schoolchildren from the local area, as well as Cllr Siobhan Dauti, Mayor of Slough.

Jo Jackson, director at SEGRO, said: “We are proud to be partnering with Earthwatch and grateful for the support of local schools and councillors in this fantastic initiative.
“Thanks to funding from Slough Trading Estate’s Simplified Planning Zone (SPZ), this tiny forest will be able to play a vital role in restoring biodiversity while offering the community a place to enjoy nature right on their doorstep.
“Slough has been our home for over 100 years, and we are committed to creating opportunities for people to engage with the environment, fostering long-term positive change and making the town a healthier and more vibrant place for both residents and those who work on the Slough Trading Estate.
Seeing the community come together around projects like this is truly inspiring and reminds us why investing in our local environment matters so much.”
Siobhan Dauti, Mayor of Slough, said: “Spending time outdoors and having access to green spaces makes such a difference to our wellbeing, so it’s wonderful to see this Tiny Forest taking root here in Slough.
“Thank you to SEGRO and Earthwatch for bringing the community together today to create something that will be enjoyed for generations to come.”
