Burhill Group Limited (BGL) has exchanged contracts with Cala Group Limited to promote the Chippings Farm site in Cobham.

Cala was selected through a competitive process, reflecting its strong planning record in Elmbridge, its experience delivering high-quality legacy developments, and its alignment with BGL’s long-term stewardship approach.

The partnership will support the preparation of a planning application later this year, with BGL, Cala, and Elmbridge Borough Council expected to work collaboratively throughout the process. The proposals could deliver about 550 new homes, including 50 per cent affordable housing, together with substantial green infrastructure and publicly accessible open space.

The announcement also recognises the contribution of the advisers and stakeholders who helped reach this milestone. In the wider context, Carvil had previously assisted Burhill Developments in making representations to Elmbridge Borough Council about the site’s Green Belt status during the Local Plan process.

Chippings Farm sits within BGL Estates’ broader property portfolio, which includes land and farms, residential estates, and commercial assets. Overall, the agreement marks an important step toward advancing a significant mixed-tenure, landscape-led development at Chippings Farm.
