Councillors at Bristol City Council have voted against approval for a proposal of a 260-home development, at Brislington Meadows, Broomhill Road in Bristol.

The development initially saw positive signs, with a planning officer having made a recommendation to approve details of reserved matters, however the application was later referred to the Planning Committee where it was voted against, as it received 596 public objections.

The site is approximately 23.7 acres and is made up of open fields. The proposal was comprised of 260 homes upon this site, 78 of which would have been affordable, comprised of one and two-bed apartments, alongside two, three and four-bedroom houses.

The open market portion would have been comprised of one and two-bed apartments, alongside two, three and four-bedroom houses.

The proposal also included cycle access, car parking, and public open space.
