Cllr Barry Parsons, chair of the homes and housing delivery committee, has provided an update on the rollout of NEC, the centralised digital housing system.
The system was rolled out in October 2025, allowing the council to manage repairs, rents, housing applications and customer enquiries in one central system, with the intention to allow residents to receive quicker and easier services.
As of 8 April, a large amount of Bristol’s housing activity is now managed on the system, including repairs, tenancy management, lettings, housing advice, and service charges.
Cllr Parsons also mentioned the challenges of implementation, including residents experiencing difficulties logging into and using the system, and delays in the repairs process. Cllr Parsons also mentioned that work was undertaken to fix the aforementioned issues.
Future plans
Cllr Parsons said that the council was aiming to complete the rollout by March 2027.
