Residents in Westborough and Park Barn are invited to help shape their area’s future by taking part in a new survey linked to Guildford Council’s Better Homes Programme.
The survey starts a wider conversation with residents, businesses and community organisations about what people value locally, the challenges they face, and the improvements they want to see over the long term.
The programme is exploring ways to improve existing Council-owned homes, bring empty homes and sites back into use, provide more Council homes for local people, and make streets, green spaces and play areas more accessible and inclusive. No decisions have been made yet, and community feedback will help guide any future proposals.
People can complete the survey online, and there will also be a drop-in event where they can meet the project team, ask questions and share their views. This event will take place on Wednesday 11 November, from 4 pm to 8 pm, at The Hive, Park Barn Drive, Guildford, GU2 8EN.
Council leaders say the survey is an opportunity for residents to explain what matters most to them and to help shape future improvements for current and next generations. The Council is also working with architects, landscape architects, urban designers and engagement specialists on the first phase of the programme.
The Council is also creating an Inclusive Community Panel of up to 15 local people. Over the next 12 months, panel members will meet four times to share their knowledge and help develop a shared vision for the future of Westborough and Park Barn.
