Lonza plans to demolish all three buildings at the 12-acre Thames Valley Park site it bought in 2023.
The biopharmaceuticals group has instructed local demolition firm J Mould to apply to Wokingham Borough Council for permission to demolish the three former British Gas buildings at 125, 225 and 325 Thames Valley Park Drive.
The buildings, Faraday (pictured in Google image above), Hutton and Murdoch, and the links between them, will be levelled but the parking, including some decked areas, will remain.
Work is proposed to begin from June 23.
Lonza, currently based in Slough, plans to redevelop the site for a lab and office scheme of around 400,000 sq ft.
A spokesperson confirmed the application but declined to say more.
In a response to a request for details from Thames Tap, a Lonza statement read: “We can confirm that a planning application for the demolition of the existing buildings has been submitted, which is designed to support our long-term plans for the site at Thames Valley Park. We cannot comment any further on the plans at this time but we are happy to update you when we have further news to share.”
The Google image below shows the three buildings. Parking areas in front of them and at the bottom right of image will remain.
