Councillors have voted to allow 25,856 sq m of storage and distribution space next to Symmetry Park in Bicester.
Tritax Symmetry’s plans for two warehouses for B8 use on seven hectares of vacant, arable farming land next to the existing park, were unanimously approved by Cherwell District Council’s planning committee at its May 15 meeting.
Speaking on behalf of the developer, Louise Steele, planning director for Framptons Town Planning, said the scheme in Morrell Way would create around 300 new jobs as well as 80 jobs per year in the construction.
She said: “The application site forms a logical extension to the existing Symmetry Park development and would assist in achieving wider economic and employment objectives in the development plan.
“The site lies within a sustainable location with further improvements to public transport and pedestrian and cycle connectivity secured.”
