Councillors are due to decide the way forward to regenerate Ascot High Street at a meeting on Tuesday (July 22).

A guidance document, designed to deliver the vision to rejuvenate the area, improve public spaces and ensure new development is sufficiently integrated will be discussed by the Royal Borough’s cabinet.

The Ascot placemaking supplementary planning document (SPD), developed following engagement with residents, developers and local businesses, aims to provide a framework to shape future investment and regeneration and support infrastructure planning.

It was discussed at the place overview and scrutiny panel meeting on Wednesday, July 16, and is recommended for adoption at cabinet.

Cllr Adam Bermange, cabinet member for planning, governance and asset management, said: “This sets the right expectations for development, provides clarity for developers and will reassure residents that we are working to deliver a coordinated and high-quality future for Ascot.

“Throughout the process, we’ve listened to your feedback, making changes to reflect local priorities.”
